Writing away the weekend

July 27, 2008 on 8:34 pm | In school |

I’ve spent much of my weekend writing. On Friday night I wrote a paper for my Hitchcock class comparing the heroines in The 39 Steps and Shadow of a Doubt, and tonight I’m comparing Henry V and Macbeth as “great men” for my Shakespeare class. I really shouldn’t have put off the papers like I did, but it was sort of unavoidable since work was pretty busy last week.

Brandon got back from Indiana University early Saturday morning. It’s nice to have him back, since things just don’t feel right without him home. I think the nights are the weirdest. I mean sure, I have the cat here with me, but he’s not so much of a cuddler as he is a pouncer and a biter. But I love him for who he is, just like he loves me despite the fact that I accidentally locked him in the bathroom all day Friday in the dark without food. Woops.

  1. Nights ARE weird without that good ol’ fashined man comfort. That’s why we have a gigantic dog. He slept on the floor beside my bed when Chad went out of town for two weeks a month ago. I highly doubt he would do much more than annoy a potential intruder, though. In fact, monster would probably be more effective in that sense. Cats are so unpredictable. And claw-y.

  2. That is so true! I mean, Monster already attacks our guests, so I should probably feel pretty secure with him perched next to the bed.

Did I mention that he does that? Especially in the mornings. He perches on the dresser next to the bed and watches me. When the alarm goes off, he meows a little, and then watches me some more. Crazy cat.
