The new standard
December 12, 2007 on 11:04 pm | In conversations, entertainment |A lame commercial or tv show clip comes on.
One of us says, “Seriously, who would think that is funny?”
The other replies, “People laughed at the Simpsons Movie.”
And we both silently reflect on the sad state of comedy.

No way! Are you guys moving or something, or do you just have a new job lined up? This next month will go by so quickly. I’m really happy for you.

So you guys thought the Simpson’s Movie sucked too?
Comment by Ryan — December 16, 2007 #
It was horrible! We wanted to leave, but it was raining outside and we had a bit of a walk.
I mean, I watch old episodes of The Simpsons and I still think they’re funny, so it’s not my sense of humor that has changed. The movie just seemed so… Not funny and commercialized. “Harry Plopper”? For real? The movie was just so far away from what made The Simpsons good.

Glad I didn’t miss out on anything. We just kind of forgot about it.

Yeah, I was pretty excited to see it and left feeling like it was so predictable and not very funny.
