Happy V-day!

Whether you love it or hate it, it’s Valentine’s day again. Brandon and I went out to eat last night to celebrate, which was nice because the restaurant was empty. Seriously. For most of our meal, we were the only people there. Which is odd, because a few years ago we heard a report that the day before Valentine’s day was the day that most men took their mistresses out to dinner. But I guess since wives have wisened up due to that report, cheaters have had to pick a different day.

This is the first time I’ve worked in a large office on V-day, and so I’m wondering how fierce the competition between women will be when it comes to appearing loved. Y’know, with the flowers and such being delivered to them. So far, not a lot of activity. But it’s early yet.

So anyway, happy Valentine’s day. Hope you get lots of candy and flowers and feel extra loved today. And if you’re anti-Vday, I hope you are successful in bursting the bubbles of those who have been taken in by this Hallmark holiday. And then get candy on sale later.
